Estonian company to supply concrete to large Finnish railway project

Estonian concrete manufacturer E-Betoonelement won a large contract to supply concrete elements for the tunnel of Kehärata, the transit railway line that connects Helsinki with Vantaa Airport, reports Aripaev referring to Estonian news portal BBN.

Vaido Leosk, CEO of E-Betoonelement, said that the project was very important for E-Betoonelement.

"It’s a big project for us. Volumes are big and the project covers about a year," said Leos.

According to Leosk, it was the first time that E-Betoonelement supplied elements to an infrastructure project in Finland.

The Helsinki-Vantaa railway line is expected to be completed in 2015 and is likely to cost 675 million euros.

E-Betoonelement will supply 800 large and about 100 small elements for the project with a total mass of more than 10,000 tons.

The business idea of E-Betoonelement is to provide the owners of buildings and construction companies optimal, high-quality and flexible building solutions based on prefabricated concrete products, and related services. The company mainly operates in Estonia and St. Petersburg.

The resources of E-Betoonelement for carrying out our solutions include project management, technical design, manufacturing of concrete structures, and assembly at the building site.
